This correct. English elite forced Irish into a famine with the ridiculous high price of grain. The blight came and destroyed the core foodstuff of the Irish diet, because they couldn’t afford the grain. While the blight didn’t effect the English working class, the cost of grain did. It took Robert Peel to repeal the corn laws to break the famine.
